On Sunday, August 4, around 4:30 p.m., deputies responded to the area of Bumpnose Road in Marianna in reference to a possible traffic collision. When deputies arrived, they discovered a white Chevrolet truck with no license plate stuck in a ditch beside the road.

The driver, Roy Collins, was found sleeping in the driver’s seat and open alcoholic beverage containers were found in the vehicle. Collins was asked to step out of the vehicle and showed multiple signs of impairment.

When deputies asked Collins for his driver’s license, he stated that he does not have one. It was then discovered that Collins’ driver’s license was suspended in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2014, and 2024. Collins was labelled a Habitual Traffic Offender in 2014 and has had his license revoked permanently for four or more DUI offenses.

Collins was arrested and is being charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI), Driving While License Suspended or Revoked with Knowledge, and Refusal to Submit to Testing.
