Holmes County, Florida Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division Arrests Four for Drug Distribution and Seizure of Half Pound of Methamphetamine

On August 22, 2024, the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Narcotics Division successfully executed an operation that led to the arrests of four individuals involved in drug distribution and the seizure of more than half a pound (10 ounces) of methamphetamine in Holmes County.

This operation was the culmination of an ongoing investigation by HCSO, targeting the distribution of methamphetamine within the county.

The operation included the execution of a search warrant in the Gritney community, along with two successful undercover operations.

The following individuals were arrested as a result of this operation:

Melissa Carroll – Charged with Possession of Methamphetamine

James Johnson from Freeport – Charged with Trafficking in

Methamphetamine Over 28 Grams

Samantha Palmer from Freeport – Charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine Over 28 Grams

Dominique Kennedy from DeFuniak Springs – Charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine Over 200 Grams, Sale of Methamphetamine, and Unlawful Use of Two-Way Communication

Sheriff Tate expressed the importance of the operation, stating, “This operation marks a significant victory in our efforts to combat the distribution of methamphetamine in Holmes County. We will continue to relentlessly pursue those who threaten the safety and well-being of our community through the illegal drug trade.”
