Quinton Lawrance Kirkland, 75 of Chipley, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on August 22, 2024, at UAB hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
Quinton was born on November 4, 1948, in Chipley, Florida to Euless Earl Kirkland and Myrtle Lucille Locke. He was a lifelong resident of Washington County and was a member of Blue Lake Baptist Church in Chipley, Florida. Quinton loved to spend his time camping, fishing and gardening. Family was everything to him. He loved his grandchildren and affectionately referred to his great grand daughters as princesses.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Euless and Myrtle Kirkland; wife: Elsie Nancy Berry Kirkland.
He is survived by his daughters: Mandy Cook (Jason) and Vicky Williams (Charlie), both from Chipley, FL; brother: Aubrey Sloan (Ann) of Chipley, FL; sisters: Charlotte Mitchell of Grand Ridge, FL, Sue Kent of Dellwood, FL, and Neater Pool of Dellwood, FL; grandchildren: Danielle Obert (Colby),Kayla Cook (fiancé Terry Crews), Mason Cook (Carrington), Dylan Williams( fiancé-Taylor Moody),Rylan Williams; great-grandchildren: Millie Obert, Lila Obert, Chaney Obert; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday August 26, 2024. At Blue Lake Baptist Church in Chipley, Fl with Bro. Mike Orr officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Lake Baptist Church Cemetery. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley directing.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 PM Sunday, August 25,2024 at Obert Funeral Home Chapel, 731 Kirkland Rd. Chipley, Fl. 32428.
Immediately Following the service, the family will be having a time of fellowship at 1140 Buddy Road Chipley Florida.
