On August 30, the Chipley Police Department was alerted to a potential threat involving an individual planning multiple convenience store robberies.
Our patrol officers and investigators acted swiftly, working to identify the suspect and inform local convenience stores of the potential threat.
We provided them with a description of the suspect and guidance on precautionary measures.
In response, we increased patrols in the targeted areas to enhance vigilance. The following day, August 31, shortly after 10 p.m., we received a report of an armed robbery at the Shell Gas Station near the interstate.
Our officers and investigators responded quickly , issuing a BOLO (Be On the Look Out) alert for the suspect’s vehicle.
Thanks to the collaborative efforts with Washington and Holmes County authorities, the vehicle was located on the interstate near Bonifay shortly thereafter. The suspect was detained and, upon the arrival of Chipley PD investigators, was identified as our person of interest.
The individual, Isaac Xavier McDonald, was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail. At his first appearance, a bond of $50,000 was set for charges related to robbery with a firearm.
We commend our officers for their diligent work in resolving this situation efficiently and ensuring the safety of our community.
