The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is excited to announce the acquisition of a state-of-the-art drone equipped with FLIR (Forward-Looking Infrared) technology.
This addition to HCSO’s resources will significantly enhance our capabilities in search and rescue operations, criminal apprehension, and disaster response.
The new drone, featuring FLIR thermal imaging, allows deputies to detect heat signatures from individuals and objects in low-visibility conditions such as at night or during extreme weather.
This technology provides critical support in locating missing persons, suspects evading capture, and evidence that might otherwise be concealed.
“The addition of this drone provides us with a powerful tool to respond faster and more efficiently in emergencies. Whether it’s helping locate a missing child, identifying suspects during a manhunt, or aiding first responders during natural disasters, this new resource will be a game-changer for public safety in Holmes County” said Sheriff Tate.
This technology is just one part of our ongoing efforts to improve the safety and well-being of Holmes County residents. We will continue seeking innovative tools and methods to provide the highest level of service to our community.
