On Thursday, October 10, state and local officials, including Brunswick’s Mayor Johnson, Georgia Ports Authority, the U.S. EPA, industry leaders, and electrification experts will meet to discuss the current state and future of medium- and heavy-duty vehicle and port electrification in Florida and Georgia.

WHY: The Southeast is leading EV and battery manufacturing and is well-positioned to capture billions of dollars of additional public and private transportation electrification investments—but the road ahead is by no means clear. Technical, logistical, and political challenges have the potential to hinder adoption and slow the pace of investment. Stakeholders will convene from across the public and private sectors to identify and mitigate these challenges to ensure that Florida and Georgia can capitalize on this massive economic opportunity.
About the Electrification Coalition: The Electrification Coalition is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that promotes policies and actions to facilitate the widespread adoption of plug-in electric vehicles (EVs) on a mass scale to overcome the economic, public health and national security challenges that stem from America’s dependence on oil.
