The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash early Sunday, October 6, 2024 morning, resulting in the death of a 20-year-old Chipley man.
Authorities reported the incident occurred around 4:21 a.m. on Clayton Road near Gainer Road. The man was driving west when he veered across the eastbound lane, left the road, and then overcorrected, causing his vehicle to overturn.
According to troopers, the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the truck. The vehicle struck a fence before coming to a stop. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
