On Tuesday, November 12, 2024, Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies responded to an address on Highway 73 in reference to two vehicle burglaries. The victim stated that two of his vehicles had been entered and rummaged through.
Later that day, deputies responded to a business on Magnolia Road in reference to a vehicle theft. The vehicle was later seen on Highway 90 by the business owner, and he contacted the JCSO. Deputies, assisted by the Marianna Police Department, stopped the truck on Bumpnose Road. The driver, Sean Michael Toal, was taken to the JCSO for an interview.
During the interview, Toal admitted to stealing the truck and stealing tools and a battery pack from the two unoccupied vehicles the same day.
Toal was arrested and is being charged with Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle and two counts of Burglary of an Unoccupied Vehicle.
