‘High Impact’ Teachers recognized at School Board meeting …………..

The Washington County School Board led off their April 9th meeting with the recognition of the ‘High Impact’ teachers from around the county.

The School Board also took the opportunity to recognize Dr. Bobbie Dawson, Director of Federal Programs and Food Services, who will be retiring June 30, 2018, after 35 years with the local school system.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A decision on the proposed Teacher Graduate Tuition Reimbursement Program was tabled for more information.

 

The following agenda items were approved at Monday night’s meeting:

  •  Instructional personnel and Non-Instructional personnel recommendations were approved for the 2018-2019 school year at the following schools and at the District level – Chipley High School, Florida Panhandle Technical College, Kate M. Smith Elementary School, Roulhac Middle School, Vernon Elementary School, Vernon High School, Vernon Elementary School, and WISE, as well as in Maintenance, and Transportation.
  • Payment of monthly bills.
  • Financial Report and Budget Amendments.
  • March 12th Regular Board Meeting minutes.
  • March 27th Workshop minutes.
  • Out-of-State travel for Vernon Elementary School 4th grade field trip to the Fun Zone in Dothan, Alabama on May 11th.
  • Out-of-State travel for Vernon High School BETA Club to attend National BETA Competition in Savannah, Georgia on July 17-20, 2018.
  • Contract with Brian Boehman for Psychological services.
  •  Contract with Allied Instructional Services, Inc.
  •  Step increase for support staff and a bonus to staff with 25+ years or in a gap on step schedule/add CPA license supplement for an assistant director or finance and coordinator of finance-PAEC.
  • Employment recommendation of Shelia Nicholas, bus driver, effective retroactive to April 2, 2018.
  • Employment of Stephanie Shelley, paraprofessional, retroactive to March 27, 2018
