We deeply appreciate the role you played in improving the lives of our seniors and their caregivers this year.

As we close the book on 2017, none of us will ever lose sight of all that you did.  We could never have achieved so much and served so many without such incredible support from all of YOU, our committed volunteers and loyal supporters.

We are grateful that you care so deeply about this vulnerable population.  We cherish your unconditional support of our efforts.

Finally, many thanks for championing all of our fund-raising efforts throughout the year.  We could never ever have done what we did without YOU.

Best Wishes for a very happy New Year.

January Message from Our CEO

Words From The Seniors We Serve

“Thank you so much.  It is so nice to have someone drive me at the same day and time to buy groceries.  You are an angel.  If it weren’t for you I would not be able to stay home and I don’t want to be anywhere else.”
– Senior receiving weekly travel assistance”Really appreciate ECS – MOW (Meals on Wheels) and STARS (Seniors Transporting At-Risk Seniors).  I didn’t want to use these services but now I am so thankful for the help.  I get out and get to see more people.””The Foster Grandparent Program gives me a reason to get out of bed in the morning.”

“They are a joy.”
– Senior regarding her in-home care workers

Thank You, Elder Elves!

169 seniors received gifts and holiday cheer from generous community members through the Elder Elf program this year!  Many more received extra items that will be used all throughout the year.  Thank you to all of our sponsors!  These gestures of kindness truly brightened the holidays for so many of our local seniors.

Community Partners – Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC and Department of Elder Affairs

For the third year in a row, the partners and staff of Carr, Riggs & Ingram, LLC (Tallahassee) conducted a Christmas Drive for the clients of Elder Care Services.  Staff donated $440 to purchase space heaters and other necessities, including blankets, clothing, shoes, and toiletries. Thank you for your generosity and for making the holiday season a bit warmer and a lot more fun for many grateful seniors!

The Department of Elder Affairs arranged a drive for essential supplies for needy seniors. Several local aging agency members helped assemble the bags which later were distributed to Meals on Wheels clients. These bags will provide seniors with much needed supplies for the winter months.
