The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is reporting that Daniel Payton Taylor, 47 of Atmore, Alabama, was traveling in a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe east on US 90 in Escambia County when the vehicle traveled onto the grass median approximately 2 miles west of Woodbine Road.  It traveled head-on into a guardrail which protects vehicles from entering the water between two bridges.

Impact with the guardrail sent the Tahoe into the air before it entered the water.  The vehicle then came to a final position fully submerged in the water between the two bridges.

Taylor was transported to West Florida Hospital with minor injuries.
