Open to area youngsters, the special event will feature all types of hands-on art activity for the young people.
Members of the Chipley Kiwanis Club are also selling tickets for a 5-for custom pine porch swing, complete with side-arms with cup-holes and hanging chains. The swing was donated by the Florida Panhandle Technical College. Tickets are $5 each, or five for $20.00, and are available from any member of the Chipley Kiwanis Club. The drawing will be held Friday, April 27th and the winner will be notified.
Tracy Andrews, representing Ward 3 on the Chipley City Council, was the official guest speaker for Tuesday’s meeting and encouraged city residents to attend the April City Council workshop and meeting where she is expecting topics to include economic development and the City’s alcohol ordinances.
Touching on other issues facing the Chipley City Council Andrews was pleased to announce that more than 200 young people have signed up to participate in the City’s in the various upcoming recreation programs that Chipley offers.
She was also pleased to report the City is working at upgrading the recreational facilities at Pal’s Park. Andrews credited the Washington County Board of County Commissioners with in-kind assistance with that work.
Andrews was pleased that the City has rolled out new ways for citizens to pay their utility bills. She said the City is now accepting Master Card, VISA and Discover to give customers the options they have requested.
Commenting on the City’s Public Works Department, Andrews was particularly pleased to announce the upcoming April 9th – 30th Amnesty Days being offered Chipley residents (but not businesses). The City Councilwoman said she hopes city residents will take advantage of the event to clean their property of unwanted items.
Andrews said, “We’re going to work together to clean up the City.”
