The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports that a four year old Jackson County child received serious injuries in an Aug. 16th accident and is being treated at an Alabama medical facility.

According to the FHP report, the incident occured when Linda Baker, 60, of Alford, Florida, was traveling East on a private driveway on Cornwell in Alford.

The FHP reports Baker was driving a 2003 Chrysler and the child was walking beside the vehicle trying to hold on to the right front door.  The driver said she stopped the car and told the child to stop holding on to the car door and get away from the car.

While the driver was traveling East again the child still attempted to grab on to the car and he then fell to the ground.  This action caused the right rear tire of the car to strike the child.
