CareerSource Chipola offers School Board grant funding for workers ……

Rose Adams, CareerSource Chipola, met with the Washington County School Board Monday evening to offer temporary help with cleanup work after Hurricane Michael. 

Adams said they are currently hiring the following:

  •  General Laborers at $15 hourly
  •  Humanitarian Workers at $13 hourly
  •  General Office Workers at $12 hourly

The Disaster Temporary Jobs Grant may be able to employ workers for up to 12 months.

As part of the meeting Daniel Young, with the Florida Pazrk Service at Pine Log State Park, presented Washington County School Superintendent Joe Taylor with a check as a gift to the local school system.

School Board members also held a Public Hearing as part of Monday’s meeting to review the following 11 policies that are being revised:

Public input was called for, but none was received.

  •  Policy #2.95 – Wellness Program  Policy revised to reflect changes in law and DOE model policy.
  • Policy 3.10 – Organizational Chart
  •  Policy 3.40 Safe and Secure School revised to relfect changes in law
  •  Policy 3.39 – Domestic  Security revised to establish procedures for prevention of violence on school grounds.
  •  Policy 4.21 – Instructional Materials Selection  revised to remove challenged materials information.
  •  Policy 4.75 – Virtual Instruction revises policy to add certifications and assessments that meet eligibility requirements.
  •  Policy 5.10 – Requirements of Original Entry revises policy to add mental health services.
  • Policy 5.32 – Zero Tolerance for School Related Crimes revises policy to add consultation with law enforcement.
  • Policy 7.34 – Hospitality Funds revisies policy to add additional activities expenditures may be used to fund.                                                                                      ————————————————–
