Three injured in Holmes County crash …………

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports that a Holmes County deputy and two Ponce de Leon men were injured in an accident Jan. 3rd in the Ponce de Leon area.

According to the FHP, 52-year-old Thomas Pate, an investigator with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, received serious injuries, while 35-year-old Luke Denniong and 54-year-old Walter Denning each received minor injuries in the crash.

The FHP reports that Luke Denning was driving a 2008 Dodge Ram westbound on a private dirt driveway at 2851 CR 181C and approached CR 181C to turn left at the time of the accident.

At the same time Pate was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe, an unmarked Holmes County Sheriff’s patrol vehicle, northbound on CR 181C approaching the driveway. The Ram turned left and entered the path of Tahoe and the front of the Taoe struck the left rear wheel of the Dodge Ram.

Pate was transported to an area medical facility.
