Meeting in a recessed session March 28th, members of the Wausau Town Council approved the Rec Department’s request to use the Possum Palace for a fundraiser on April 27th.
Council members are supporting activities to upgrade the sports being promoted by the community’s recreation director. Currently the department is using a Pizza Hut fundraiser to assist the department. Those desiring to help the program can purchase a $10 Fundraiser Card and receive a free medium pizza with with each $15 purchase.
In other action at Thursday’s meeting the Town Council opened the only engineering firm bid they received. Council members were told the Town will have to get permission from the State of Florida to award the sole source bid to Dewberry.
The Wausau Town Council also took the following actions at Thursday’s meeting:
- Authorized the Mayor to execute the FEMA funding agreement for reimbursement.
- Announced that Waste Management will be supplying dumpsters for the Town’s May 6th – 10th Clean-Up Week.
- Approved the Washington County Council on Aging using the Town Hall one day a week as a meeting place for a Senior Citizens event that will include a program and light lunch.
- Approved making a $50.00 donation to the members of the Chipley High School ROTC program who will be attending State level competition.
The next Wausua Town Council Workshop is set for April 4th at 6 p.m.
The next Wausau Regular Town Council Meeting will be April 11th at 6 p.m.
