Vernon, Florida Celebrates Veterans Day With Dedication of Ball Fields and Community Center, Veteran’s Luncheon on Monday, November 11, 2019

On Monday, November 11, 2019, the City of Vernon, Florida commemorated Veteran’s Day at the Vernon Community Center, adjacent to Vernon City Hall, at 1:30 PM, with a celebratory luncheon for local veterans.

The event featured speakers and refreshments, and followed the dedication of the Shady Grove Ball Fields on Hwy 79 in Vernon, honoring Alvin Brown, mentor to many upcoming ballplayer in the Vernon area.

Vernon was bedecked with American flags throughout the City, in a patriotic gesture befitting the day, and the ceremonies were open to the public, all were invited, and were attended by many Washington County and Vernon past and present public officials, as seen by Paul Goulding Photography, a subsidiary of The Goulding Agency in Chipley, Florida.
