Mrs. Cynthia Matthews Fleming, 72, of Panama City, Florida, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2019.

She was born in Buchanan, MO on May 1, 1947 to Charles L. Matthews and Beverly J. Matthews.

Mrs. Fleming was a schoolteacher from 1971 – 2014. She worked at Oakland Terrace, Tyndall Elementary, Holy Nativity Day School, A.D. Harris Sixth Grade Center, Rosenwald Middle School and Jinks Middle School. Her biggest love was flowers, especially daylilys. Mrs. Fleming was a member of the Tallahassee Daylily Club, Choctawhatchee Daylily Society, Wiregrass Daylily Society and American Horticulture Society. She was also the owner of Dragons Mead Daylilys.

Mrs. Fleming is preceded in death by one son, Matthew Cliff Gay.

She is survived by her husband, James Randy Fleming; one daughter, Amanda Fleming Stockdale; grandchildren, Ludwig Gay, Amanda Elizabeth Gay, Jakob Gay and Mallory Elizabeth Stockdale; siblings, David Charles Matthews and Christy Ann Bernhardt.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Southerland Event Center in Lynn Haven with Chaplain Christopher Underhill officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
