Walter “Doddle” Locke Jr., 81, of Wausau, Florida, went home to be with the Lord December 3, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Doddle was born September 10, 1938 in Washington County, Florida to Walter and Pearl Hicks Locke. He worked for the Washington County Road Department and was a member of the Wausau Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed fishing and loved working on the farm.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Pearl Locke; Son: Matt Riley; Brothers: Charles “Tittle” Locke and Eugene “Dick” Locke; Sister: Elvinia Locke.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years Margaret Locke of Wausau, Florida. Sons: Wayne Locke (Andrea) of Wausau, Florida, Dennis Locke (Christy) of Vancouver, Washington, Quenton Riley (Rena) of Vernon, Florida. Daughter: Cindy Harrison (Duran) of Ebro, Florida. 9 grandchildren: Sierra Slaughter (David), Morgan Locke, Malinda Locke, Clayton Riley, Jake Riley, Kati Riley, Abby Locke, Ryan Locke and Kylie Harrison. 1 great grandchild: Sage Slaughter.
Funeral services will be held 11AM Thursday, December 5, 2019 at the Wausau Assembly of God Church with Revs. Danny Burns and Ronnie Gene Hagan officiating. Burial will follow in Leigh cemetery with Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Wausau Assembly of God Church.
Flowers are accepted or donations mat be made to Emerald Coast Hospice or to the Washington County Counseling on Aging.
