Hemodialysis is now one of the fastest-growing segments of health care, offering well-paid jobs after less than a half-year of training.
The good news is that Florida Panhandle Technical College in Chipley, Florida is now offering both a Hemodialysis Program which trains for positions as a Hemodialysis Technician, as well as a Patient Care Technician Program, preparing students to work hands-on with patients in a hospital, assisted living program or a nursing home setting.
These programs are now enrolling for January classes, and FPTC Director Martha Compton suggests that interested persons contact Student Services (see contact info below) as soon as possible to ensure securing a place in the classes.
Also available is a Hemodialysis Certification of Completion for current LPN’s and RN’s interested in a career as a Hemodialysis Nurse.

A career as a Hemodialysis Technician is rewarding and a well-paid job,and Florida Panhandle Technical College in downtown Chipley, Florida is now offering a 5 month Hemodialysis Program that can lead to a career either locally and nationally.
The program lasts 16 weeks which includes 255 hours of classroom theory and 255 hours of clinical experience all designed to help prepare current nurses for a career in the rewarding field of Hemodialysis Nursing.

Financial aid is available for both class programs, and the average salary for a Hemodialysis Technician in the Florida Panhandle region is over $35,000, while PCT’s can earn over $25,000 annually.
LPN’s and RN’s may also complete this program to expand their skills to enable them to work as a Hemodialysis Nurses.
