VA Medical Center Seeks Volunteers ……………..

GAINESIVLLE/LAKE CITY, FL— Voluntary Service at both the Lake City Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center and  Malcom Randall Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center is currently seeking volunteers in various areas. Volunteers are one of our greatest assets and we rely upon them to help us accomplish our mission of providing excellent health care to our Veterans.

  • For the Lake City VAMC, support of that mission includes customer service areas such as one on one patient visitors and No Veteran Dies alone program (in which volunteers come in and spend time with Veterans, family and staff on the Hospice Unit). If you have questions or are interested in becoming a volunteer (for the areas mentioned above) at the Lake City VAMC call the Voluntary Service at 386-755- 3016, ext. 392135. 

 

  • For the Malcom Randall VAMC, support of that mission includes customer service areas such as the ambassadors and coffee programs, wood working and gardening volunteers to support Recreation Therapy. If you have questions or are interested in becoming a volunteer (for the areas mentioned above) at the Malcom Randall VAMC call the Voluntary Service office at 352-548-6068.

All interested volunteers must pass a background investigation.

  • We are also seeking volunteers throughout the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System to drive Veterans from our Outpatient facilities to either the Lake City or Malcom Randall VAMCs utilizing donated vans. This is a full day assignment. You must have a good driving record, pass a driver physical and proof of insurance.   If you are interest in the driving assignment call 352-548-6068 and you will be connected to the appropriate office.
