Released by the Florida Highway Patrol …
The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports only minor injuries in a three vehicle crash on Highway 231 Feb. 4th.
Nancy Sue Kelley, 64, of Panama City, Florida received only minor injuries according to the FHP. Jason D. Decker, 47, of Zionsville, Pennsylvania and Jose de Jesus Contreras, 50, of Laredo, Texas, were reported as having received no injuries in the accident.
Kelley was driving a 2016 Nissan Maxima northbound on U.S. 231.
Decker, who was driving a 2019 Ford F-150, was stopped at the stop sign on Dilmore Rad facing west waiting to turn left onto U.S. 231.
Contreras, who was driving a 2019 Volvo Semi, was stopped at the stop sign on Dilmore Road facing west waiting to turn right onto U.S. 231
The FHP reported that apparently Kelley thought the turn lane was a through lane and didn’t realize the turn lane ended at Dilmore Road, causing the front of the Nissan to collide with the left rear of the Ford.
The front of the Nissan then collided with the front of the Volvo.
The Nissan came to final rest facing southwest on Dilmore Road and the Volvo came to final rest facing west on Dilmore Road.
