The City of Vernon, Florida held their second 2022-2023 Budget Workshop Meeting on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, as seen in the video (below).
Some discussion over the past several meetings has centered around incomplete or incorrect paperwork filed by the former dismissed City Clerk and Assistant City Clerk, as discovered by an independent bookkeeper, who has not been able to determine the exact financial status of the City, and the Vernon City Council scheduled the next budget workshop meeting for Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
Vernon City Attorney Michelle Jordan clashed with Vernon City Clerk Karen White on Tuesday evening, prompting a second meeting, also scheduled for Tuesday, September 13, 2022, to discuss allegations of failure to follow employee handbook procedures, retaliation and other matters in detail.
