On Monday, January 29, deputies and investigators responded to Jackson Hospital after receiving reports that a patient had multiple gunshot wounds to their person. The victim stated they had been shot at a residence in Dellwood.

Investigators learned that a tussle ensued earlier that day between the victim and several males, who were attempting to grab the contents of the victim’s pockets, resulting in the victim being shot multiple times by 15-year-old Kevon Davis.

The victim stated that both Davis and 16-year-old Jashawn Hartsfield brandished firearms at the time of the incident.

When deputies and investigators arrived at the scene of the shooting, they made contact with the occupants of the residence, who they determined to be Davis and Hartsfield. Both were detained for further questioning.

Investigators also located the vehicle the victim was driving at the time of the incident and found several bullet holes in the vehicle.

When questioned, Davis admitted to shooting the victim, and firing at the victim’s vehicle several times as the victim was driving away.

The victim positively identified both Davis and Hartsfield as the individuals involved in the incident.

Davis was arrested and is being charged with Attempted Felony Murder and Robbery with a Firearm.

Hartsfield was arrested and is being charged with First Degree Robbery with a Firearm.

This investigation is still ongoing, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
