Vernon, Florida Fire Department responds to Mobile Home Fire on February 20, 2024

Around 5pm on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, the Vernon Fire Rescue Department was dispatched for a possible working structure fire.
 
Chipley Fire Rescue and Wausau Fire Department were dispatched for mutual aid.
 
Vernon Engine 60 arrived on scene and confirmed a working single-wide mobile home that was approximately 75% engulfed.
 
Vernon Engine 60 began initial fire attack.
 
Vernon Chief S. Green arrived on scene and established Park Command.
 
Vernon Tanker 60 arrived on scene to provide water supply and manpower.
 
Chipley Fire Rescue and Wausau Fire Department arrived on scene and provided manpower and water supply.
 
Firefighters on scene conducted a primary search with nothing found. The fire was extinguished with no report of any injuries.
 
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
 
Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office was contacted and responded to the scene to conduct the investigation for the cause of the fire.
