Virginia F. Ruschmeier, 74 of Chipley, Florida Passes on March 2, 2024

Virginia F. Ruschmeier, 74 of Chipley, passed away peacefully at her home on March 2, 2024. 

Virginia was born on July 16, 1949 in Washington County, Florida to Calvin H. Matthews and Mary Elizabeth (Jones) Matthews.

A lifelong resident of Washington County, she worked for the Washington County Sheriffs Department and retired after 26 years of service. Virginia enjoyed being outdoors as much as her health allowed, fishing and mowing her grass.  

She was of the Christian faith and was a member of Wausau Assembly of God. Virginia loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her. 

She was preceded in death by her parents: Calvin and Mary Elizabeth Matthews; beloved daughter: Kristen Elayne Hall.

She is survived by her loving husband: James L. “Jim” Ruschmeier of Chipley, Florida sons: Eric Pierce of Birmingham, Alabama, Tracey Crutchfield of Graceville, Florida, Michael Ruschmeier of Michigan, Nikolas Ruschmeier of Chipley, Florida, Cameron Ruschmeier of Chipley, Florida, Rick Ruschmeier of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, Steve Ruschmeier of Slidell, Louisiana, David Ruschmeier of Pensacola, Florida; daughters: Tammy Paridon of Chipley, Florida, Marla Crutchfield of Graceville, Florida, Kay Nestor of Gulf Breeze, Florida; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Grace and Glory Worship Center in Chipley, Florida with Pastor Debbie Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:30-2PM Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Grace and Glory Worship Center, 912 Brickyard Road, Chipley, Florida.
