On March 14, 2024, the Holmes County, Florida Sheriff’s Office received a report from a concerned citizen who had lost her credit card.

Upon discovering over $2000 of unauthorized charges on her credit card statement, including charges at 81 Liquors in Ponce de Leon and various online shopping transactions, the citizen promptly notified law enforcement.

Deputies immediately initiated an investigation into the matter.

Through diligent efforts, they were able to obtain surveillance footage from 81 Liquors, which captured the suspects using the victim’s credit card to make purchases.

Remarkably, one of the suspects even signed her real name on the receipt, aiding law enforcement in their identification efforts.

Utilizing advanced technology, investigators used License Plate Reader (LPR) systems, which successfully captured an image of the suspect vehicle.

Further inquiry revealed that the vehicle was rented from Enterprise rental car company, and the rental agreement implicated Shamille Guy and Marquita Lee from Horn Lake, Mississippi as the renters.

A subsequent comparison with driver’s license photos confirmed Guy and Lee as the individuals using the victim’s credit card at 81 Liquors.

As a result of the investigation, warrants have been issued for the arrest of Shamille Guy and Marquita Lee on charges of fraudulent use of a credit card.
