Ellen Fay Batson, 79 of Chipley, Florida, passed away on March 30, 2024 at River Valley Rehab in Blountstown, Florida.
Ellen was born on June 20, 1944, to William York and Eunice Gainey. Ellen attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Chipley, Florida. She loved to spend her free time in her flower garden and collecting her chicken eggs. Ellen was a wonderful caretaker especially with her momma. Most of all, she loved her family and will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Eunice York; husband: Gene Ursery; brothers: Nathan York, Baby York.
She is survived by her son: Bill Batson of Graceville, FL; brothers: William York (Cathy) of Panama City, FL, Larry York (Darcy) of Vernon, FL; sisters: Mary Finch of Chipley, FL, Gail Howell of Bonifay, FL, Pauline Toole of Bonifay, FL, Frances Bass of Graceville, FL; grandchildren: Dustin Batson, William Batson; numerous great grandchildren.
Service will be held 2 PM Thursday April 4, 2024, at Obert Funeral Home Chapel (731 Kirkland Road) with Pastor Shane Obert officiating. Interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Chipley, Florida. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.
The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to Obert Funeral Home Chapel (731 Kirkland Road).
