Harris Hudson of Bonifay and Joseph Currington of Westville Arrested by Holmes County, Florida Sheriff’s Office for Methamphetamine

On April 3, 2024, deputies with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with an expired tag at the intersection of Hwy 79 and St. Johns Rd. in Bonifay.
 
Contact was made with the driver, Harris Hudson of Bonifay, and passenger Joseph Currington of Westville.
 
Shortly after the stop was initiated, officers with Bonifay Police Department also arrived on scene to assist. During the interaction, Currington gave consent to deputies to search the vehicle. The search revealed a cigarette pack containing methamphetamine, found between the driver’s seat and door where Hudson had been sitting.
 
When officers requested to search Currington’s person, he pulled a rag from his pocket and informed them it was wrapped around a pipe. Further inspection of the pipe revealed that it also contained methamphetamine.
 
Harris Hudson and Joseph Currington were arrested and transported to the Holmes County Jail. Hudson is charged with possession of methamphetamine; Currington is charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
 
One additional occupant was present in the vehicle, but was not found to be in possession of any illegal items or substances and was released from the scene.
