A Panama City man and Navarre, FL man was arrested in Washington County on drug charges following a traffic stop.
Just before 9p.m., April 8th, Washington County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on Orange Hill Rd. near Gilbert’s Mill Rd. With lights and sirens active the vehicle did not stop and continued travelling East on Stewart Rd. As the vehicle continued the passenger side door came open if someone was attempting to exit the vehicle. The vehicle made an abrupt turn into a residence and came to a complete stop. Occupants of the vehicle later identified as 34-year-old, William Cameron Abbott and 40-year-old; Jacob Roy Rogers were commanded to exit the vehicle. Both subjects were secured and in plain view on the passenger seat deputies observe drug paraphernalia.
A search of the vehicle was conducted, and deputies discovered a black backpack and gray zip lock backpack that contained more paraphernalia, cocaine, and a controlled substance.
Both were arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail. Rogers on the charges of possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cocaine, and driving while license suspended or revoked, habitual offender. Abbott on the charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm while in the commission of a felony.
