Washington County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Larry Collins of Chipley for Firearms Theft, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Etc.

On April 18, 2024, Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the owner of Circle H in Vernon, in reference to a theft. Deputies along with investigators then responded to Circle H to collect any available evidence.

Video footage of the suspects taking the sunglasses from a secured cabinet in the store was provided to investigators. The suspects were later identified as Larry J. Collins and David R. Belew.

Investigators made contact with Mr. Larry Collins, at his residence on Edwards Drive in Chipley, Fl. During a recorded interview with investigators, Mr. Collins admitted to taking the Costa Del Mar sunglasses, from the Circle H in Vernon.

A search warrant was then conducted on a shed located on Mr. Collins’ property. During the search, the stolen sunglasses were located along with a firearm and multiple narcotics.

Larry J. Collins was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamines 14 grams or over, possession of drug equipment, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell/manufacture/deliver, possession of weapon or ammunition by convicted felon, possession of harmful new legend drug without a prescription, possession of cocaine, retail theft over $750.

A warrant has also been obtained on David R. Belew for retail theft of more than $750.
