On December 23, 2025, a deputy with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a truck traveling on Boney Bridge Road. The driver refused to stop, and a vehicle pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit continued into Jackson County, where the vehicle traveled onto Peanut Road. The driver subsequently lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll over and catch fire. Deputies were able to remove all the occupants from the vehicle.
The driver was identified as Brock McDaniel of Graceville. Investigators determined there were three additional passengers in the vehicle at the time of the pursuit, two of whom were juveniles.
McDaniel was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding and Child Neglect.
