On December 30, 2025, while on patrol near Quail Hollow Blvd, a deputy with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office observed a vehicle being driven by Matthew Stafford.
Stafford was known to have an active felony warrant in Washington County. The deputy activated emergency equipment to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle attempted to evade law enforcement. After a short pursuit, the vehicle came to a stop on Rudd Road.
A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
The driver, Matthew Stafford, was arrested on the outstanding warrant for violation of probation and charged with possession of a controlled substance, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, habitual driving while license suspended or revoked.
The passenger, Michelle Dickerson, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, trafficking methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana (less than 20 grams).
Both Stafford and Dickerson were transported to the Washington County Jail.
