On January 12, 2026, the Washington County Sheriffs Office was notified of a possible sex offense involving a minor. After an investigation into the allegations, a warrant was issued for 30-year old Branden D. Zimmerman of Chipley, Florida.
On January 13, 2026, Mr. Zimmerman was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail on charges of Sexual Battery victim under 12 years of age, offender over 18 years of age.
