At approximately 9:07 a.m. the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a domestic dispute on Friendship Church Lane in Malone.
Deputies learned the dispute involved Kirk Oliver and another individual. During the incident, Oliver fired multiple shots, striking the victim’s vehicle, before fleeing the scene on foot.
As the situation escalated, deputies worked quickly to secure the area while Telecommunications relayed critical information in real time. Operations coordinated resources as the response expanded. Once Oliver fled, the K-9 Tracking Team was immediately deployed to track his direction of travel. Patrol guided the investigation, while the Aviation Unit assisted from the air, providing support to ground units as the search continued.
After an extensive, coordinated search involving multiple divisions of the Sheriff’s Office, Kirk Oliver was located and taken into custody without further incident. Criminal Investigations continue to assist with the incident.
Kirk Oliver was arrested and charged with:
• Battery
• Aggravated Assault with a Firearm
(Along with other charges as the investigation continues.)
