A traffic stop for a traffic violation on U.S. Highway 90 led to the discovery of illegal narcotics and prescription medication without a lawful prescription.
Deputies initiated the stop after observing a traffic violation. A K-9 unit responded to assist with the investigation, which led deputies to conduct a search of the vehicle.
During the search, deputies located a bag containing two prescription bottles. Inside were approximately 3 grams of methamphetamine and sixty Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen (M366) pills, a controlled substance available only by prescription. Deputies also located drug paraphernalia during the search. Neither prescription bottle displayed a label identifying a lawful owner.
Cynthia Marie Labit was placed under arrest without incident. She was transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility.
Labit is charged with:
• Possession of Methamphetamine
• Possession of Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
