Willard Dalton Haney, 79 of Bristol, Florida Passes on February 28, 2026 in Tallahassee, Florida

Willard Dalton Haney, 79 of Bristol, Florida went home to be with the Lord on February 28, 2026 in Tallahassee, Florida.

Willard was born on February 25, 1947, in Vernon, Florida, to Allmon Haney and Mary “Ouida” Haney. He was of the Christian faith and a lifelong resident of the Florida Panhandle. He was an Air Force Veteran, Ordained Minister and diesel mechanic by trade and upon retirement he found a love of model airplanes and taking care of his chickens.

He spent his youth helping his father in the bakery and his mother caring for his 6 younger siblings, teaching him the value of hard work and taking care of his family, life lessons that he carried into adulthood and manifested in all the ways he cared for his family. He loved his family deeply but above all he loved the Lord. Nothing on earth made him happier than being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were his pride and joy, and he loved every minute he got to spend with them. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Mike Haney, Steve Haney.

He is survived by his sons: Castor Haney (Rhonda) of Hosford, FL, Able Haney (Sherrie) of Bristol, FL, Zachariah Haney (Alexandra) of California; daughter: Stormy Johnson (Andrew) of Bristol, FL; brothers: AL Haney (Sherri) of Panama City, FL, Rocky Haney (Christine) of Marianna, FL. sisters: Jan Simmons (Robert) of Cottondale, FL, Ellen McCroan of Cottondale, FL; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held 3 PM Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Obert Funeral Home Chapel in Chipley, Florida (731 Kirkland Road) with Bro. Dennis Creamer officiating. Obert Funeral Home and Whispering Pines Crematory of Chipley, Florida in charge of arrangements.
