U.S. Weather Service Advises of Severe Thunderstorms on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, with Risk of Tornados

Posted on March 3, 2025

A line of thunderstorms will move through the area Wednesday, bringing a marginal risk of severe or damaging thunderstorms. Damaging winds, isolated tornados, and small hail will be the main threats.

A mid-week cold front will bring a chance for strong to severe storms along with it Tuesday night into Wednesday. There is a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 5) of severe thunderstorms across the extreme western portions of our area and a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) of severe thunderstorms over portions of the Tri-State region. Damaging winds and large hail are the primary concerns, but a few tornadoes cannot be ruled out.

For today, elevated fire danger still remains given the drier conditions but winds will not be as breezy as yesterday.
