12:30am ET March 12 – TORNADO WATCH
A new tornado watch has been issued for portions of our forecast area. This watch stretches from the Florida Panhandle into southeast Alabama and into portions of southwest Georgia.
A line of severe storms currently stretches across southern Alabama into central Alabama and is steadily moving east. This will continue eastward into sunrise and some strengthening or continuation of the current tornado threat expected.
By sunrise, this line should be on the eastward portions of the watch, but by that time probabilities for tornadoes will likely be lower as the threat becomes more isolated. However, while they will be lower, a brief tornado or two can’t be ruled out Thursday morning east of the watch so folks across our southern Georgia and Florida Big Bend counties should still keep an eye on the evolution of this system at daybreak.
