On Friday, February 28, 2025, around 9:15 p.m., Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near Highway 71 and Chestnut Lane. When deputies made contact with the driver, Albert Lane, it was determined that Lane was on probation and has multiple felony convictions.
Lane consented to a search of his vehicle and stated that he had both marijuana and a firearm in the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located a firearm and ammunition, marijuana, one fentanyl pressed pill, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia.
Lane was arrested and is being charged with Disposing of a Lighted Substance, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine) with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Violation of Probation.
