On March 22, 2026, a deputy with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on Highway 81. The driver refused to stop, initiating a pursuit.
The vehicle turned onto Horse Barn Road and continued fleeing before pulling into a residence. The driver, identified as Bobby Ray Bohannon, was taken into custody without further incident.
A search of the vehicle revealed several grams of methamphetamine.
Further investigation determined that the residence Bohannon pulled into was a property from which he had been previously trespassed in February.
Bohannon was charged with Fleeing and Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement, Possession of Methamphetamine, Expired Tag, and Trespassing.
