Hubert Paul Dodd Jr. 79, of Chipley, Florida went home to be with the Lord on March 23, 2026 at River Valley Rehab Center in Blountstown, Florida.
Paul was born on January 19, 1947 in El Centro, California to Hubert Paul Dodd Sr. and Sybil Dodd. Paul and Katherine (wife of 49 years) lived in Durham, California, where they raised their children and never missed a chance to attend their grandson’s sporting events. They retired in Paradise California and were members of the First Christian Church. He was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Wausau Pentecostal Holiness Church. Paul found great joy in attending church, where he loved singing and welcoming others as a greeter at the door. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, where he enjoyed fishing, spending time at the dirt track races and long drives with Kate to explore the abundant geography that is Northern California. Paul worked for many years driving a produce truck for Chico Produce, and later served his community as a Chico city bus driver. In his quieter moments, he also enjoyed reading his extensive Louis L’Amour collection. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Hubert and Sybil Dodd; wife: Katherine Dodd of 49 years; brothers: Robert Dodd, Wayne Dodd, Jerry Dodd; sister: Diane Delarosa.
He is survived by his wife: Betty Dodd of Chipley, FL; son: David Dodd (Samantha) Durham, CA; daughter: Laurie Dodd of Chico, CA; brothers: Richard Dodd, Sam Dodd, Jimmy Dodd; sisters: Robin Dodd, Pat Reader; grandchildren: Mitchell Dodd (Kensey), Tanner Dodd (Ceahana); great-grandchildren: Emerley Dodd, Kenzley Dodd, Parker Dodd.
Celebration of Life will be held 1:30 PM Sunday, March 29, 2026 at Wausau Pentecostal Holiness Church with Bro. James Barwick officiating. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida in charge of arrangements.
