Harlon Cecil Register, 79 of Vernon, Florida Passes on April 20, 2026

Harlon Cecil Register age 79, a lifelong resident of Vernon, Florida went home to be with the Lord on April 20, 2026. 

Harlon joined the Navy at the age 17 where he served his country proudly. On his return from duty, he worked various jobs until he went into business with his daddy at Registers Service Station. He enjoyed interacting with all of the customers. He was happiest when he was fishing and tending to his garden. 

Harlon Cecil Register is survived by his devoted wife and love of his life of 56 years: Mollie Marie Register; His three children: Tamara Marie Riley and husband David, Ellen Denise Hall, and Joseph Harlon Register.

His siblings: Tammie Topp and husband William, Annette Nichols and husband John; brother-in-law: Harold Roche; stepmother: Merile Register.

He is a proud grandfather to Brendan Moody, Lauren King, Amber Goodall, Quin Hall, Katlyn Riley, Ashton Hall, Jaiza Register and Jozie Campbell. Great-grandfather to Willow-Delilah Johns and Gabriella Rayne King.

Harlon was preceded in death by his parents: Marion Cecil Register and Lucille Haddock Odom; sister: Tina Odom Knight. 

Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Obert Funeral Home Chapel (731 Kirkland Road) in Chipley, Florida. Following the service, Harlon will be laid to rest at the Vernon City Cemetery. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing. 

The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at Obert Funeral Home Chapel.
