US Weather Service Advises Strong to Severe Thunderstorms Possible Tonight

From the National Weather Service in Tallahassee on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible tonight, mainly along and north of the I-10 corridor.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed our area under a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5).

Potential threats include:

• Wind gusts of 40–60 mph

• Hail up to quarter size (1 inch)

• A brief tornado is possible, but the risk is low (<2%)

Looking Ahead:

Additional severe weather is also possible on Saturday.
