Three men from Mississippi are arrested after a traffic stop on Interstate 10 in Walton County leads to the discovery of multiple firearms, narcotics, and an organized check‑forgery operation.

Just after 11 p.m. on April 27th, a Walton County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped a gray Dodge Charger near the 86‑mile marker eastbound on I‑10 after watching the vehicle fail to maintain its lane, repeatedly touching the centerline and fog line before crossing over the centerline without using a blinker.

When walking up to the window during the stop, the deputy immediately smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. The deputy immediately saw a handgun in plain view and a baggie containing multiple oxycodone pills.

Inside the vehicle were Ja’Khyri Isaac, 21, of Summit, Mississippi, Damontre Wilcher, 19, of Brookhaven, Mississippi, and Travien Macabee, 22, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, all of whom are convicted felons.

A search of the vehicle uncovered multiple firearms, including a Glock 17 with an extended magazine, a loaded AR‑15, ammunition, including green tip steel penetrator rounds, additional narcotics, several cell phones, a large quantity of forged checks and blank check stock, and a printer containing both completed and blank checks.

In total, deputies seized approximately $76,000 in fraudulent checks, along with hundreds of additional blank check forms consistent with large‑scale forgery operations. A Regions Bank receipt for more than $41,000 was also located.

Macabee was found to have four active felony warrants out of Alabama and Mississippi, and was taken into custody after confirmation was received from both states.

The three men were arrested on multiple charges related to firearms, narcotics, and fraud. They were transported to the Walton County Jail and were all given a $500,000 bond. All three are still incarcerated at the time of this release.
