Washington County, Florida Council on Aging Celebrates Cinco de Mayo on May 5, 2026

Posted on May 6, 2026

The Washington County, Florida Council on Aging celebrated Cinco de Mayo i style on May 5, 2026, under the gazebo on the grounds of WCCOA, as seen in the contributed photo.

We are thankful for days like this, sharing time with our friends, welcoming some new faces, and simply enjoying being together.

With a little fiesta in the air, music playing, stories being shared, and plenty of laughter, it was one of those days you just didn’t want to end.

The meal was incredible, thanks to Tamekia McKinnie for preparing the delicious tacos and sides, right down to the freshly made pico de gallo and fried corn tortillas.

The mission of WCCOA focuses on empowering older adults in Washington County to live healthy, independent, and connected lives in their communities through nutrition, care, education, and social support services.

WCCOA uses Facebook at www.facebook.com/councilonaging to regularly posts event flyers, videos of activities (e.g., exercise sessions, holiday meals), volunteer spotlights (including recognition by Advantage Aging Solutions), birthday announcements, and awareness campaigns. It serves as the primary public-facing platform for RSVPs, updates, and community engagement.
