Dollie Belle Gillis, age 87, of Westville, Florida passed away May 19, 2026, at Southeast Health in Dothan, Alabama. She was born February 4, 1939, in Westville, Florida to the late Lewis Gordon Smith and Ruby Mae Hood Smith.
In addition to her parents, Dollie was preceded in death by her husband, Angus Dee Gillis, two brothers, Allen Smith and Dewey Smith, and two grandchildren, Camron Kilpatrick and Jeremy Land.
Ms. Gillis is survived by three children, Larry Gillis and wife Phyllis of Middleburg, FL, Sandra Kilpatrick and husband Chris of Geneva, AL, and Myra Hayes of Dothan, AL; four brothers, Bud Smith and wife Cindy of Locust Grove, GA, James Smith and wife Pat of Westville, FL, Jerry Smith and wife Angie of Westville, FL, and Kenny Smith and wife Sharon of Westville, FL; the best Nana to six grandchildren, Brandi Gillis, Brittany Cherry, Larry Gillis Jr., Brooklyn Kilpatrick, Taylor Corbin, and Samantha Rustin, and eight great-grandchildren, Harmony, Peyton, Kennedy, Kenley, Ellie, Emrie, Hance, and Hux; numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Evergreen Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Campground Cemetery with Peel Funeral Home and Bonifay Crematory in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Friday, May 22, 2026, at Peel Funeral Home.
