Dorothy Mae Talton “Dot” went home to be with the Lord on May 21, 2026 in Panama City, Florida.
Dot was born on October 13, 1947, in Panama City, to P.C. Peterson and Martha Jenkins. Throughout her life, Dot devoted herself to caring for others, both personally and professionally. She found great fulfillment in her work as an administrative assistant for Community Home Health, where her compassion, kindness, and dedication touched many lives. After retirement with Community Home Health, she continued to touch the lives of many people as a private duty caregiver. She loved her work and loved every family she had the opportunity to meet and care for. In her free time, Dot also found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved spending weekends exploring yard sales and treasured the companionship of her beloved miniature dachshunds. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents: P.C Peterson and Martha Jenkins; husband: Bill Talton
She is survived by her loving fiancé: Donald Ray Vickery, her son: Ricky Talton and wife Brenda of Chipley; brothers: Paul Peterson and wife Teri of Panama City, Florida; Donald Peterson of Cottondale, Florida; sisters: Jane Allison of Chipley, Florida, Linda Justice of Chipley, Florida; three grandchildren: Tiffany Talton, Ethan Talton, Kaylee Talton and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at Obert Funeral Home Chapel (731 Kirkland Road) in Chipley, Florida, with Bro. Chris Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Wausau Memorial Gardens in Wausau, Florida. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.
The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at Obert Funeral Home Chapel.
