Corbin Joseph Hicks, 100 of Chipley, Florida went home to be with the Lord on May 29, 2026, at his daughter’s home, surrounded by his loving family.
Corbin was born on October 18, 1925, in Chipley, Florida to Clarence Hicks and Alma Williams. A lifelong resident of Washington County, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Corbin dedicated many years of his life to ministry, serving as a preacher throughout Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. His church family at Bonnett Pond Church held a special place in his heart and was an important part of his life. In his free time, Corbin enjoyed the outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, sightseeing, and spending time simply riding in the car. Most of all, he loved his family and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence and Alma Hicks; wife: Iduma Hicks; daughter: Julia Ann Pettis; brothers: Cubie Hicks, Cumi Haddock, Covel Hicks; sisters: Christine Hicks, Carmel Walsingham; great grandson: Cayden Alexander Holliday
He survived by his daughters: Martha Jean Hicks Owens (Gerald) of Wausau, FL, Ellen Sue Hicks Harrell (Jerry) of Chipley, FL; son in law: AD Pettis of Wausau, FL; grandchildren: Stacy Pettis, Emily Holliday (Jason), Melanie Kolmetz (Nick), Gina Poe (Brock), Craig Pettis (Jodi), David Harrell, April Worley (Kevin); 10 great grandchildren; 2 great – great grandchildren.
Service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Bonnett Pond Community Church in Chipley, Florida with Bro. Danny Jackson and Bro. Roger Dale Hagan officiating. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery. Obert Funeral Home of Chipley, Florida directing.
Family will receive friends for visitation an hour prior to the service at the Church.
