Jack Douglas Yates, 95 of Bonifay, Florida died on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Bonifay Nursing and Rehab Center in Bonifay, Florida.
Born Friday, May 22, 1931 in Holmes County, Florida, he was the son of the late James Yates and the late Maggie Williamson Yates.
He was a Air Force and Navy Veteran .
Surviving are son, Frank Yates and wife Debra of Hartford, AL; 5 grand children, Brad (Amber) Yates, Amy (Brian) Poole, Michael (Bethany) Yates,Jeremy (Hannah) Benton, Brandon (Rebecca) Benton; 7 great grand children.
Along with his parents, Mr. Yates was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Yates, daughter, Jackie Yates Benton, brother, Pete Yates, sisters, June Yates Day and Joyce Yates.
A Funeral service will be at 1:30 PM on Monday, June 15, 2026 at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery located at 1404 N. Hwy 79 Bonifay, Florida 32425 with Rev. Scott Cox officiating. Interment will be in Bethany Cemetery, Bonifay, FL with Sims Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Sims Funeral Home Chapel.
